Deepawali celebration at its best

I celebrated deepawali with Aunty anita's family...rai and me celebrated in the best possible way...lighting diya's and candles and bursting loadsssss of crackers...our contribution in polluting the environment...but we did enjoyed alot...uncle had bought so much crackers that Rai and I got tired of bursting crackers...the bamboo diya stand I took looked lovely....thanks to NID for the design... after a long time I was bursting crackers...don't even rem. the last time I bursted crackers...that was maybe in Delhi.I hope this deepawali brings peace and happiness...

Rai in diff moods...

Thats Rai (Adwitya)...the sweet lil girl now grown big...the last time I saw her was abt a year back..that time she was this sweet lil girl crazy after big..gliterry earings...cartoon network...now she's become more fashionable and refused to pose for a pic. coz her hair was not combed...the first pic. she posed for me after her hair properly done...how kids grow big so soon

Hungry kya......

The first pic. from top is Aloo saag and its my all time fav. manipuri snacks, I like it more than singju or bora....sorry singju!!! but Manitombi's ( The Singju-bora yonbi in my neighbourhood back home) aloo saag is something I can do anything for. The 2nd pic. is of singju...before mixing it....its the ultimate salad anyone can have...among manipuri's it's the most popular snacks/salad, when I was a kid I used to buy aloo saag and hide it from mom and have it with my sisters...fearing mumma will scold. Funny even after so many years, I still have that feeling that mumma will scold for eating junk and food from outside whenever I buy  singju, bora or Keli Chana and mind you the Keli Chana from our locality is really famous in Manipur. My friends always ask me to buy it, if I am visiting them whenever I go home for work or holiday. Hahaha how much I used to fear mumma...looking at these pics I feel hungry...very very hungry....

Bora and aloo kanghou

Nothing beats manipuri snacks.....its a lethal combo...bora as in Pakora and aloo kanghou and top it with oo- morok on the side yummmmmmmmm....its so yummy that no manipuri can stop our mouths from watering...I had these at my fren Purna's place when I had gone home 10 days back...

When dad was posted in hill dist. he used to get different species of orchid this is one of the ordhid he got from I guess Mao Maram. The leaves are very very tick and it blooms through the year. I have not seen this orchid else where, its a creeper attached with our mango tree in our sumang, one of my attempt to some good photography. I want to learn some basic tips on photography and buy myself a good camera. My best birthday gift to myself.

Kangla-Sha

Thats the pic. of the mythical creature Kangla sha. I went home after almost one year and did enjoyed my week long break alot. Earlier Kangla was occupied by the Assam Rifles but handed over to the public in 2004. The last time I visited kangla was abt 2 yrs back, things have changed inside kangla, many restoration work is going on and the Govt, sure is doing a good work.
